A monumental face with closed eyes, rendered in rich golden and bronze texture, hangs in a pale, misty sky as if dissolving into memory. Its lower half turns deep blue and breaks into dripping, torn edges. Below, two pairs of bright red feet stand on a broken, rocky landscape, crossed by a single thin red line. The tall 72-inch format enhances the feeling of height, fall and return to the earth. The painting speaks of memory, loss, journey and belonging. A striking, emotional statement piece for galleries and large collectors' spaces.
