Sulu began her artistic journey in Kochi, Kerala by learning to copy the works of her favourite artists Ravi Varma and Rembrandt. Later she trained in classical painting under Ann Witheridge, at the London Fine Art Studios in London. Her boundless creativity makes her experiment with different techniques and styles of oil on canvas, Tanjore, Mosaic Mural, linear painting and watercolour. Now pursuing contemporary art at Triveni Kala Sangam, New Delhi, she also dabbles in fiction, Ikebana and ceramics.
Her paintings have been exhibited at prominent galleries and cultural centres in India, London, Paris, Chicago and Bhutan.
