Sharmila Karri

Sharmla Karri belongs to the city of Vizag. Her work is often characterized by detailed
attention given to poignant emotions and hidden stories of the subject on the canvas.
While depicting human figures on canvas, she incorporates delicate emotions and the
charm of colours into her paintings. She dabbles with all kinds of mediums, oils being
her favorite. She doesn't usually restrain herself to one single theme or thread of
thought, but explores different genres, textures, mediums and techniques....capturing
myriad moods.

Artist Statement

I am Sharmla Karri, I belong to the city of Visakhapatnam. Figurative art always
captivated me....In my paintings, I tend to explore the nuances of relationships of
humans with their environment...while at the same time encapsulating the
beauty/celebration of life on the canvas.
