Born and brought in Mumbai, Renu is an economist by training. She drifted into sculpture 12 years back. Her varied experience combined with an enduring mental strength is evident in the strong lines of her semi abstract forms.

Her works are characterized by the tenderness of emotion and the strong bonding between mother, child and family.
