Parul Aggarwal

Parul Aggarwal is a self taught artist from Delhi. Parul started painting at the early age of 5 and developed a fair hand at painting figures and portraits. Her art was encouraged and supported by both family and teachers and she participated in many art competitions across Delhi and NCR during her childhood. With no formal training in art, she has self learned and mastered her craft through hit & trial and relentless practice over more than a decade. Parul was awarded as “Best Artist” award from her school in junior and senior categories and did many art murals for her school’s different annual functions.

The artwork created by Parul is inspired by nature, human anatomy and she loves painting dense floral motifs and still life. She works in water colour, ink, Gouache and acrylic paints and uses different mediums like canvas, paper, wooden board, metal surface and fabrics. Her painting style is contemporary and subtle. She uses a splash of colours and almost all colours in her colour palette. Her paintings are bright and exuberant, depicting the diversity and the paradoxes of nature, all in one frame.

Her latest mixed media and water colour series on the “floral paradise” depicts a maze of flowers in each frame, with a few flower buds. The paintings depict the uniqueness of nature and the flora and fauna around us where some grow and bloom and some fade away in silence at the same time. This shows the dichotomies lying within the overall beautiful settings of nature and our attraction towards it. It depicts pain and pleasure, all at the same time with few flowers exuding their best beauty while the others are making a silent retreat into the lap of Mother Nature, to be reborn and reunited in the circle of life again. It’s a beautiful concept that we witness in our day to day lives and live completely oblivious to nature’s such bountiful existence and its paradoxes.
