I am Mukta Chowdhury Nandi, a visual artist from West Bengal, India. My work engages with the idea of landscape as a shifting, perceptual experience rather than a fixed place. Seen through the veil of rain-covered glass, my paintings blur the boundaries between the external world and inner reflection, transforming urban scenes into atmospheric fields of light, movement, and uncertainty. Through layered surfaces, softened forms, and diffused illumination, I explore how environments are sensed, remembered, and emotionally inhabited. A recurring source of light anchors each composition, suggesting continuity within flux and offering moments of quiet orientation amid visual ambiguity.
My practice is oriented toward transcending literal representation, allowing landscapes to emerge as emotional and psychological terrains. By balancing light and obscurity, clarity and dissolution, the work invites viewers to pause and reconsider how space is experienced in times of transition.
