Mitali Asthana

Mitali is a Mumbai based, self-taught artist. She has evolved from being
a Hobby Artist to a Contemporary Artist. With a background in IT and
having worked in the industry for a decade, she is now forging her path
as an Artist.

Having been surrounded by art right from the very beginning, she started
to paint again, a few years back after the birth of her older daughter
Adah. And recently decided to pursue it as a career. She strongly
believes that ‘Art is Therapeutic’ and has personally benefited from the
therapeutic and meditative aspect of Art. She believes that art has the
power to alleviate you from your current to a place where things are
within your power.
She derives her inspiration from daily life and the emotions and
experiences she has as she goes living the experiences everyday. Art
for her is about happiness and peace. And she believes that it's a
privilege to pass it on, to anyone beyond oneself. It’s a language in itself
that you can use to communicate. Most of my artwork is about depicting
human connections and the emotions associated with them and the
untold story that needs a narrative. For her human faces are very
intriguing and say a lot more than words ever can. For her painting is a
way of storytelling.
