Manoj Aher is a self-taught contemporary artist based in Mumbai, India, with over 23 years of artistic practice. His work is deeply rooted in India’s vast cultural heritage and historical narratives, which he reinterprets through a contemporary visual language. He has presented several solo exhibitions, including at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai (2022), Renaissance Art Gallery, Bangalore (2011), Painted Rhythm Art Gallery, Mumbai (2010), and an upcoming solo show at the State Art Gallery, Hyderabad (2025). Aher has also participated in numerous group exhibitions across India and internationally, such as at Nehru Centre, Mumbai, and Curenta, Dubai Art Festival (2009). He has received multiple awards from the Art Society of India and the Bombay Art Society, including the Second Best Painting Award in 2007. His works are part of important private collections in India and abroad, including those of Samveg Lalbhai, Cyril Amarchand, Pranjil Lodha, Diya Mirza, and Dr. Rajesh Parikh.
