Dolly Bhansali

Dolly is an abstractionist who explores her work with painting, texture, and design. She constantly attempts to expand her scope of what art can do, far away from the visual-realistic world. She breaks out of the disciplinary world and creates imaginative and immersive art with minimal use of a paintbrush, instead focusing on unconventional tools like palette knives and paint scrapers. The unique process of layering using modest means at hand, metallic gestures and, with a wide array of colors, she creates a courageous and uncompromising depth to the artworks that show the elasticity and specificity of her thought and approach. The artworks shimmer and dazzle under lights, are free flowing and intricate, just as one would observe LIFE. Born in 1989, Dolly is a member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India since 2012. Thereafter, but before formally commencing her tryst with art, she worked as Financial Analyst at Accenture, India. Amidst preparing financial spreadsheets and balance sheets, she constantly worked on improving her skills and talent in the parallel universe of art that she is passionate about. The artist lives and works in Gurgaon with her husband and their daughter. She has been born and brought up in Bangalore while her ancestral roots are based out of the Blue city of India, Jodhpur!
