Barkha Jain

My name is Barkha Jain and I was born in pink city Jaipur (Rajasthan). I studied visual art in my graduation from Rajasthan School of Arts, Rajasthan University, and further did my masters in fine art from Rajasthan School of Arts. With consistent practice and two short courses in Blue Pottery at MSME Development Institute, Jaipur and Marble Murti, Sculpture at Rajasthan School of Arts in Jaipur, I was able to refine my work and technique. My paintings are in contemporary visual arts and figurative texture decorative work. My art adorns a colourful look. My initial work featured boat and flowers. My earlier compositions encompassed whirls and bands generating a meditative ambience. Innovating in spirit, I now work with new materials and different genres. I am currently working on my new conceptual piece, ‘A Woman’s Life and a Boat’. I am trying to relate a boat’s journey against the flow of water with a woman’s life. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ea5MAOf0K5A “I do acrylic on canvas. I love these colours. I have used mixed media including new textures in my new series. I like experimenting on different mediums. We should never lose hope in our life, and keep trying till you set your goal. I also talk about a woman's life by comparing it to a “Boat”. The way a boat reaches its destination by sailing through the water, in the same way a woman faces a lot of problems in her life but she also sails through her troubles and worries and reach the destination. This is what I am trying to communicate through my work. In this way we should never give up in our life but face it and win it.”
