Aashima Mehrotra is a distinguished visual artist and civil servant based in Delhi, whose passion for art has been nurtured since childhood. Drawing inspiration from people, nature, and travel, she pursued her artistic journey by studying the works of celebrated artists such as Nandlal Bose, Amrita Sher-Gil, Claude Monet, Picasso, and Vincent van Gogh. Primarily self-taught, her skills matured under the guidance of renowned painters like Veer Munshi and Banshidhar Pratihary from Shantiniketan. Her professional role in Railways and Tourism has exposed her to the rich diversity of Indian towns and various art forms, further fuelling her creative vision. Her works are deeply personal, reflecting her life experiences and artistic philosophy. She has developed her own distinct visual language or ‘ISM’

Aashima's artistic achievements are notable. Her debut solo exhibition was held at the prestigious Jehangir Art Gallery in Mumbai, one of the most significant galleries in South Asia. Her works have been showcased in national exhibitions, including those organized by AIFACS, GMR, and Lalit Kala Akademi. She has held over 10 solo exhibitions and participated in over 55 group exhibitions. Her paintings have garnered accolades on both national and international platforms. Notably, her painting "Kasani" was selected for the 89th Annual All India Exhibition of Arts by the Indian Academy of Fine Arts-Amritsar, and her work "Yellow Satva" earned her a solo show sponsorship at Chitramayee State Gallery of Art in Hyderabad. She also secured 4th place in the "Art United – Together We Stand" competition organized by New York Art Competition in collaboration with Agora Art Gallery, and 6th place in the American Art Awards in the category of Impressionism-Human. Her painting “LAAPATAA LADIES” was selected for the most prestigious – “64 th National Exhibition of Art, 2024-25” by Lalit Kala Academy, Government of India
