Through her artwork she trys to depict the “Essence of slum Life” representing their expectations, reality, hardship, vision, happiness, and love by using two and three-dimensional surfaces. For her the use of readymade material is indiscriminate and complex. She has made it an integral part of her art practice as it represents a hidden history.
“Every scratch on a used thing has a story to tell. Every hole in the blanket or their cloth has a history” says Tanisha.

She feels that a mother's love is universal and for her it is the biggest inspiration.
