Shiva Baraya is a watercolour artist recognized for her still life and floral paintings.
She has a maters degree in business administration but in 2017 she decided to pursue her passion
for visual arts. She uses her strong observational skills to represent her subjects in realistic style
mainly through the medium of watercolours. Her subject matter is varied but still life and florals are
prominent. Shiva likes to create mystery in her paintings and strengthens the personality of her
subjects by accentuating contrast and using bold colours against a dark background. She strongly
feels that painting the beauty of nature sparks wonder and makes her feel more alive. In today’s
technology filled, fast paced world she wants her viewers to look at her paintings and get a feeling of
wellbeing and happiness.
Shiva has exhibited her work in various shows and her paintings are held in private collections.
